Café Refresh Host/Hostess

We have an in house cafe and takeaway service. Host/ Hostess duties include customer service, drink preparation, taking orders, clearing tables for kitchen staff, cleaning tables, shelves etc.

The host will also process payment (cash or card) use till to record sales and help cash up at the end of business. Full training is provided!

Café Refresh Kitchen Assistants

This volunteer role is crucial to the smooth running of the kitchen. You will be responsible for the food station which prepares salads, sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes, hot and cold puddings. You will also assist with takeaway orders. 

Full training will be given on all aspects of food preparation and presentation.

Good Friends offers a fantastic way to put back into your community and support someone nearby in need of help. Living With and Beyond Cancer Volunteer

Location:Darlington

Due to significant improvement in cancer survival rates over the last 15 years there are currently 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. More than half of people receiving a cancer diagnosis will now live ten years or more and need to live well.

The Living With and Beyond Cancer Project is a national transformation programme which aims to improve patient experience by introducing ‘The Recovery Package’, a combination of different interventions which when implemented can improve outcomes and co-ordination of care.

We are looking for volunteers across Darlington to support this national initiative, conducting holistic health needs assessments in hospital, primary care and community settings.

Volunteers will receive the relevant training and support to enable them to carry out this role.
