Every penny of your donation will go towards helping an older person in North Yorkshire & Darlington

How your donation helps

Your donation will be gratefully received and used to help improve quality of life for older people across North Yorkshire & Darlington.

We ensure that for every £1 you donate, a full £1 goes towards helping an older person in your area.

  • £10 covers the cost of a telephone befriender to keep in touch with an isolated older person each day.
  • £20 provides a home visit to an isolated and lonely older person, including risk assessment and referral to services such as Befriending, Information & Advice, Handyperson and more.
  • £45 offers a day out providing activities, friendship and a nutritious meal for an older person.

Your donation helps us to continue projects such as Befriending, Information & Advice, one-off events such as Christmas Lunches for older and vulnerable people and much more.

There are a number of ways you can donate, including legacies, one-off donations and payroll giving.

One-off or Regular Donations

Donating Online

Donating online is quick and easy. Visit our Local Giving page and choose to either provide a one-off donation, or a monthly Direct Debit. The choice is yours.

Gift Aid Your Donation

If you are a UK Taxpayer, Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington can reclaim the tax you have already paid as Gift Aid. This means that for every £1 donated, Age UK will receive an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further to improving the lives of older people in North Yorkshire and Darlington.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.

If your employer, company or personal pension provider runs a Payroll Giving scheme, you can donate straight from your wages or pension. This happens before tax is deducted from your income.
