Helping older people to Love Later Life

Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington is a local independent charity, and we are committed to delivering quality assured services and activities to our customers.

We've been in operation since 1986, offering a wide range of services, all tailored for the over 50's.

We adopt shared governance as part of our organisational culture which means that our customers, volunteers, partners and staff have a strong voice in what and how the decisions of the organisation are made.

We ask, we listen and we focus on the needs of our customers, this enables us to provide the right services. Our Mission is – “to enhance the health and well-being of older people by promoting quality-assured activity, information and care; ensuring that older people have opportunity for choice and continued independence".

We want you to achieve your lifestyle ambitions, by leading a life that is healthier, with increased independence and more opportunities.

Whether you’re an individual, carer and family member; we'll support you to enjoy your life with a choice of quality, trusted and affordable services.

Working with you, your family or carers, we have developed an approach that is truly person centred and effective in improving health and wellbeing. We aim to improve quality of life through a mixture of quality, tailored health, wellbeing and social interventions. From direct support to respite for family and carers, our packages could include a mix of care, fitness classes, transport, cleaning and shopping services.

For example, a package could help you or your loved one carry out a variety of tasks in and around the home safely, so you can maintain your independence and while enjoying everything later life has to offer.
